The Minister of Sports and Youth, Dragoslav Šćekić, officially opened the central event of the European Week of Sport at St. Peter of Cetinje Square in Podgorica and congratulated the audience on this important event.
"This year, the European Week of Sport celebrates its first decade of existence with the aim of promoting sport and physical activity across Europe. The Ministry of Sports and Youth, as a national coordinating body, strives to encourage the public and activate the population to year-round physical activity, regardless of age or physical fitness, while educating citizens about healthy lifestyles. The goal is to encourage the local population to be regularly active and provide more opportunities for exercise in everyday life," said Šćekić.
He also referred to the motto of this year's European Week of Sport campaign – #BeActive – Move more, scroll less.
"Modern technologies have accelerated life, but also slowed down movement. I invite everyone present to move and be more physically active. Be at least recreational. The Ministry of Sports and Youth supports you in your intention to change your habits and recreate outdoors. If you don't know how, ask our athletes – ambassadors of the European Week of Sport – Ana Milačić, Filip Radović or Milivoj Dukić", said the Minister.
The attendees were also greeted by one of the ambassadors of the European Week of Sport, sailor Milivoj Dukić, and pointed out the importance of this initiative.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth organized one of the central events of the European Week of Sport at St. Peter of Cetinje Square in Podgorica.
